Ummmm..this is not really a critque but a suggestion. I don't know if this was already planned but I think a sculpted tail would be great. The orignal doesn't really fit his stance, a more relaxed tail would be better. Yeah, I'm adding more work, but,ya know..:)

(I have to post reply comments as Anonymous, just so you know - It's me XD)
Yeah, I thought about that too, but it is more work :-D and I'm not quite proficient with tails yet. Also, I think I may just say his mane and tail are "windswept" - the actual tailbone (the part the horse has muscle control over :D) is actually relaxed, and the tail hairs are just being blown around a bit. I was planning on making his mane do the same thing...kinda swooshed back.

I was hoping to name the finished piece "Landcruiser" - he's supposed to be a rugged kinda guy XD Thanks!

Well, you could also cut off the end of his tail (where it starts to turn out) and just resculpt the tip... Or, if you want to go with windswept, you could dip the tail in boiling water to get it hot, then kind of wrap it around the back legs. (It looks really good so far, btw!)

Yeah, I was kinda thinking of something like that - heat up his tail and reshape it a little. And WOW, I've used alot of my apoxie!!! Thanks!

This guy is so cool! You've made the ISH head look very elegant. The only thing is that his neck appears to be just a bit long. The top view photo looks very nice in terms of muscling and you've given him lovely ears. Can't wait to see how he turns out. Keep up the great work!

hi, just saw this post.. his neck is too long.. you need ot shorten it a bit.. and please if your not use reference photos! I cant stress this enough.. if you don't read it already .. go and red sara minks blog about sculpting..
http://mink-studios.blogspot.com/ go back and stat at beginner references and read all the posts from there.. she will be posting on sculpting a lot more now so please do read them...I do and even though I have been sculpting for 30 ears and consider myself a advanced professional I still learn lots and my work keeps improving.. so ck it out.. and shorten his neck.. then find some good references of good neck muscling in this position.. look at it really closely and if you can go look and feel some real horses necks.. run your hands over the neck and feel where the muscles are.. it really does help! I go out and look at my horse all the time when I cant quite figure out something Im working on... or I just need a reference... and if you haven't ask for some critiques on blab or fallen leaves... good luck!
