This morning was fun - got up to go to church, and the leftovers of yesterday's snow were still evident...especially on the road.
Dad decided it would be fun to do some 180's on the road in front of our driveway...well, almost a full 180, while us kids (me and my two brothers) were cheering him on.
The roads into town were lightly icy in the shady spots - not bad, really.
Until we got to Watergap Hill.
Backgroud story: Watergap Hill is steep, and made of an S-shaped curve that is in the shade of a big hill - no sun exposure in the winter when it snows and freezes.
So, on with the story.
Dad, of course, has been driving for over 20 years - he knows what to do, getting the right tire onto the shoulder for better traction, where there is no ice, just sticky snow.
The person in front of us is criticized the whole way down for riding their brakes on the icy pavement.
But, we are humbled when we see the two cars in the ditch - which, by the way, is a steep drop into a ravine, with lots of trees.
So, our trip was safe if not adventurous, with me and my brothers pointing out the black ice on the road during the half-hour trip.
And, the picture I took yesterday of my bay suckling TB foal sniffing his snowman friend:
So cute!
